Hennessy Very Special Cognac

(1 customer review)

Hennessy has evolved to become one of Cognac’s most recognizable brands, as well as the   largest producer of this French spirit globally. In 1724, officer Richard Hennessy left Killavullen, County Cork, for France to join king Louis XV’s army. Richard Hennessy settled in Cognac after serving in the French army for many years, and in 1765 established his own distillery.

Cognac is the culmination of a three-part story – selection, maturing, and finally blending – that takes place exclusively in Cognac region.

Hennessy chooses only the best grapes from the AOC’s four grand cru zones to ensure the quality and variety of its notes (Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois).

The spirit  is then  preserved in French oak casks after being double distilled in copper stills. With almost 470,000 casks sitting in its basements, Hennessy has the world’s greatest reserves of cognac brandy. Finally, there is the skill of mixing. This art has evolved through time at Hennessy, and it has come to define the House’s image and vision.
